DIY taco shells – using muffin pan

We have a 7+ year long tradition in our house… margarita & pizza every Thursday. It’s been great – I never have to worry about what to make for dinner (and, hey – who doesn’t love margaritas?)

So, I decided to start “Taco Tuesday” … just think of all the options (greek, lettuce wraps, etc)!  The week I started the taco tradition, I forgot the most important thing – TACO SHELLS (really – Andrea?) After a quick trip to pinterest (of course) I came up with a solution — and unlike other pinterest projects I have tried — it actually worked great!

DIY taco shells

Take a flour tortilla and spray it with cooking spray. Turn your muffin pan upside down and position the tortilla in the pan to form a bowl. Bake on 350 for 10 minutes!

(apparently if you are going to use corn tortillas you need to brush the tortilla with water before putting in baking pan so it won’t break. I didn’t need to do this, but that is what other reviews were saying about the corn version.)

I made little taco salad shells out of these and they were amazing! Try it, I promise you won’t be disappointed! Pinterest to the rescue!
