The first “cool” front has hit our part of the country. Yes, I made chili, pulled out my knee boots and busted out the pumpkin candle! My house feels sooooo cozy right now!
We are in major budget mode right now, so I wanted to find a cheap (nice) way to update the decor without spending a lot of money.
I decided to use the same DIY kid canvas method I showed you a few weeks ago to create a fun piece of fall wall art. (and, I saw a similar wall art like this at Target for $25!)
The best part: I used items I already had: a canvas, paints & tape.
First, pick out a few acrylic paint colors. I paid $50 cents each for these – they are cheap.
Now, set your base color. I used gold spray paint – then touched it up with metallic acrylic paint.
Next, use tape to spell out your words. (I used washi tape because I am obsessed and have 30 rolls but you can use any thick tape)
Now, paint over the entire canvas. You could get real crafty here, but my baby has been sick so I only had about 10 minutes to get this one done.
I let my paint dry overnight (mainly because I was holding a baby the entire time).
Once it is dry, just peel off the tape!!
I also spent $2 on a few orange/redish colored flowers and added them to a small white flower display I already have on my table.
OK – off to make some homemade pumpkin seeds!
