Magic Jewelry cleaner recipe – it works!

I’ve finally lost some weight since baby #2 (go me!) and now I can comfortably wear my wedding & engagement ring! Well, in the year (plus) since it’s been hidden away my poor ring has started looking a little drab. My engagement ring is actually from my grandmother. It’s the ring she got from her first husband back in 1950. Awesome, right? So, honestly – I don’t wear it *that* much because I’m scared I’ll lose it.

After searching the internet for homemade jewelry cleaners, I made a concoction of my own that worked wonders so I wanted to share it with you!

You need: foil, boiling water, baking soda, salt

First, put the foil shiny side out in a bowl & put the jewelry in the bowl. (I did my engagement ring, wedding ring and a pair of diamond earrings)

Then, pour baking soda in the bowl covering the jewelry and put a shake or two of salt in the bowl.

Now, pour boiling water over the mixture and watch it bubble up! (can you see the bubbles?)

Let it sit for about 10 minutes. Remove and rinse with water – and there you go!

It was hard to get a good picture of how amazing my rings looked – but seriously, I have almost never seen my grandma’s ring look so amazing!!

Also, I used this on gold & diamonds and I know it works on these items. So, don’t use this on pearls or anything else like that because I’m not sure what would happen and I am no expert.
